Tea Factory Design located in Kegalle, Sri Lanka.
A modern tea processing facility designed for a 9-acre mountainous site in the Kegalle District of Sri Lanka. With a total floor area of 76,041 sq ft, the project was carefully developed in response to the site's natural characteristics. The design process began with a comprehensive understanding of the topography, contours, wind direction, sun path, natural water flow, and surrounding environmental conditions.
The building placement was strategically planned to establish the best relationship with the terrain while supporting efficient factory operations. Every design decision considered both the operational requirements of the tea manufacturing process and the unique qualities of the landscape.
The project demonstrates a site-responsive architectural approach where the land, climate, and industrial functionality are integrated to create a sustainable, efficient, and environmentally sensitive tea processing facility that works harmoniously with its mountain setting.
